Getting Ready For Summer

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

The first thing that we do at our house every summer to get ready for the season is break out the shade devices. My personal favorite is our awning, one of the products from the coolaroo company that are popular. It is so light and easy to setup. Plus, it blocks the heat from the sun on hot afternoons. I do not want to have to sit in the hot sun on afternoons, but I love to be in the outdoors. The shade that we use is the best solution to our problem with the sun. It is nice to bring the family together on the patio, where we can also enjoy our coolaroo shadecloth.

Get the upper hand on construction estimating

Friday, October 17th, 2008

If you are a skilled construction professional, you know that you could be the best and still not get good jobs if you cannot do good construction estimating.  It is very important to get the customer a good estimate what a project will cost so that he picks you over other possible bidders.  Overestimate the job and you might not get it at all, but underestimate the job and the client might be quite upset (and you may either lose money on the job or lose future business because of it).  Therefore it is of the utmost importance to learn the fundamentals of construction estimating - either from a class or book.

Indulging in Deep Soaking Tubs

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Ah! The luxury of coming home and submerging your aching muscles in a deep soaking tub had seemed a dream even a few months earlier. Not only could I not afford these deep soaking tubs, there was no space for one also in my cramped studio apartment. But thanks to an astonishing raise in my salary, I could finally realize my dream of moving into a more spacious pad and the first thing which I splurged on was a deep soaking tub for my bathroom. Now, I come home after a hectic day and indulge in a long soak in my very own deep soaking tubs!

Various bamboo roller shades

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

It was a constant problem in my house for the last few months. The house to the west had been demolished to make space for a new one. Now the sun shone straight into my drawing room till sunset. Apart from making the room hot, the strong light was pretty unpleasant. The lace curtains hardly obstructed the light. My sister advised me to get Bamboo Roller Shades for the room. These really solved my problem. Easy to pull down or lift up, these shades cost much less than other blinds. The artistic look has added beauty to my house. I got myself custom made shades in my favorite colors.

Thoughts On Geo Thermo Energy

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

I’ve been reading a lot about
Geo Thermo Energy lately. I have a thing for green investing and green enterprise, and geothermal, though often overlooked, has great potential.
All my research on Geothermal Climate System Manufacturers points to the same conclusion: this technology should continue to grow here in the U.S. for the foreseeable future. It’s a great investment.
I’m thinking I might buy a geothermal heat exchanger myself, if they are available in my area.
Please comment and let me know what you think.
