ERP Implementation

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

For a while, the idea of ERP was simply not thinkable for the small business owners as, besides the huge implementation costs, ERP failures had led to major losses in some organizations. Today, however, ERP is much easier to implement and the concept of small business ERP has actually taken root.  Plus there are several reasons that have made oracle erp available to small business owners. Part of the reason for the huge cost of ERP implementation in the past was the fact that the technology was in the hands of big vending companies which had their hands full with equally rich clients. In recent times, however, the technology is available from smaller vendors who are able to serve small businesses. Moreover, even the big ERP vendors have consistently been developing programs that are affordable by smaller companies.

Remove Popup Windows

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Where can you go to get a pop up blocker for your computer? Pop Up Windows are annoying and worse than that, they are dangerous for your computer. Pop up ads can cause viruses or put spyware into your computer without your knowledge. So to cut down on or, hopefully, completely rid yourself of pop up ads, get yourself a good pop up blocker. When you go to get your pop up blocker, you should check online, or your local computer store.

The first place, ideally, to look for a pop up blocker is online. There are many legitimate free download sites that offer pop up blockers. Generally, you can download them directly from the site and have them working in no time. If you go that route, though, just keep in mind that you will likely have to wait a week or two to get your pop up blocker. As you peruse the internet for your pop up blocker, though, be careful that you only download what you know. Make sure it is a legitimate site from which you are downloading and that the pop up blocker is a legit.

The second place to get a adware popup blocker is off the shelf of your local computer store. Many of the software programs you have or put on your computer, especially internet browsers, already have a pop up blocker. However, you can buy other pop up blockers off of the shelf at your local computer store. Go in, speak with a computer technician, and find out which one will work best for you. It is often said that you get what you pay for, and sometimes pop up blockers are that way, so buying one at the store can prove to be a worthwhile investment over a free one off the internet.

Refurbished Laptops, Notebooks on the Cheap

Monday, July 13th, 2009

I found out a great way to purchase a new high quality fast processor speed gaming system for cheap. Usually I go into the electronics store and ask for the model I decided upon previously after reading up on how the various laptops rated. The last time I did that it turned out that they only had refurbished laptop notebooks in the model I wanted, which was an Asus EEE PC, so I bought it anyway and got a discount of the sticker price. I think instead though I’ll visit the store more often and just ask what computers are available refurbished because most of the time they’ve only been used once very briefly. If it’s a model I want, I’ll buy it, and I could always take it back if I change my mind.

T1 Dedicated Line This Year

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

I’m thinking of replacing my DSL connection with an upgrade. I know that fiber optics are starting to hit the scene, but I think a T1 dedicated line might be the right choice for now. There are starting to be better rates with a T1 leased line because of the competition. Also the technology has settled so there would be less of a chance of service interruptions. Next year I might reconsider and see what Fios has to offer.

Digital Video Recorder Software

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

The DVR software is the short form of digital video recorder software which is also called a personal video recorder or PVR which essentially is same as a Video Cassette Recorder, which records content from a TV program. The DVR is however capable of doing much more than the old Video Cassette Recorder, in the sense that it makes TV viewing more crisp where you do not have to waste time viewing trash. Since it records everything that you are viewing, you can choose to pause your viewing and see it later since it all recorded for your pleasure.

Losing a Job

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

I lost my job a few days ago. Fortunately, for the last few months, I have started selling things online, so that if something like this ever happened, we would have a small cushion of time for me to find another job.  Basically, I have access to these products from this company, and they grant me Exclusive Resell Rights, so whatever I bring in from selling these online, I am able to keep.  A lot of people are doing this as a way to make some extra money on the side to put toward a vacation or something.  I never thought until now it would be my only job.

Can I Get Information ON Software Testing Courses?

Monday, February 16th, 2009

Several of my computer programming students are interested in online software testing courses.  Do you have any available?  If there are none available online, can you refer me to some courses offered locally in our area?  I will attach the local information in a later email to you.  These young people are really gung-ho and want to revolutionize the ether world.  It is exciting working with them, since they not only want to test pre-existing software; they also want to create their own and develop theie friends’ software programs, and then set up a testing lab that will get all the glitches out before they offer to market.

Stolen Laptop Dilemma

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

There is no mistaken the fact that over a million laptops have been stolen over the years in the United States alone. Anytime a laptop is stolen, chances are that it won’t be recovered. If the information wasn’t backed up, then the owner will be left with no winbook laptop - but more importantly - no backed up data either.

Just like you can with desktop computers, you can also create a backup of the data on your laptop as well. You can use online services, back it up remotely, or use several other methods to ensure that you keep all of your data. Preserving your data is something you should really look into, especially if you have business material on your laptop.
