Awards in recognition of excellence are given in all sorts of fields. Direct mail awards are given by marketing bodies and associations to companies or direct marketing companies that have showed distinction in their work or in a direct mailing campaign that was run. Most prestigious direct marketing associations give some sort of direct mail awards . Even the Clio’s, best known for their award shows with funny or memorable television advertisements, have awards for the best direct mail campaigns. Judging could be through public vote, but usually, a selected panel of judges selects awardees. Awards could be general, or quite specific. For instance, there are awards for best direct mail design in some cases.
