Klaus asked:

I just purchased an iPad for the purpose of showing presentations to clients, and I can’t figure out how to get the ppt. files onto the iPad. Does anyone know how to do this, or if it’s even possible?

The best way is to convert your your powerpoint into MP4 or mov which are supported by iPad.
This software (http://www.ppt-to-dvd.com/ppt-to-video-overview.html) will help you. By the way, enjoy your iPad, it’s really cool!

You would transfer your presentation to the iPad just like you would to your iPod or iPhone by basically converting the slides to individual images and showing them as a slide show. Keep in mind that doing this will cause you to lose any transitions, sounds or animation effects you have added. There is a step-by-step how to do this on my blog here:. The demo is for 2008 but it will work for 2007 as well.

In the Apps tab when you select your iPad in iTunes,
there’s a section for the iWork apps where you can select a file to upload.

Select your PP presentation and it will be uploaded to your iPad where Keynote can import it (it works fine for me).

      Yes, it is possible.
You can convert your PowerPoint to video like mp4. or .mov with Leawo PowerPoint to Video(http://www.leawo.com/powerpoint-video-converter/ ) in Windows OS.
Then the converted video can be played well on iPad and all the PowerPoint origianls like animations, transitions, video clips and sounds will be well preserved.
Of course, you can also burn your PowerPoint presentations onto DVD with Moyea PPT to DVD Burner(http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/ppt_to_dvd/ ), so that your PowerPoint DVD disc can be played with a DVD-palyer TV, projector,PC or Mac.
      Hope it may help.

I do it everyday. Its not only possible but it’s best way to show presentation. Better than any PC hands down.

Install app Keynote. You can either email document yourself or upload to iWork.com,dropbox,google doc and then download it on iPad.
You can also create a presentation right on iPad. And it’s better and easier than PC.

You can open Powerpoint file to Krynote and show to your clients through projector or directly on iPad.

      How to import Powerpoint :

You can email it and open on iPad
Upload to Box.net,Dropbox or mobile me
And open and save on iPad.

You might wanna an app called Good Reader.
Good reader can download any file from website or email and then upload to any server like drop box, Google doc or else you can just export to keynote for any editing then import back if you want to upload or email.
