My Personal Experience With Using A Wireless Laptop

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Alright, I’m sick of working at home. I’m going to go crazy if I stay boxed up here any longer. Time to get a wireless laptop so I can work in cafes and actually be around other people.
Seriously, I can’t imagine why it took so long for Wireless Internet Access For Your Laptop to become popular. Working from anywhere - what’s not to like? It’s like having a new office every day. So much nicer than the depressing cube I used to be stuck in.
Of course knowing my luck mine will get stolen 3 days after I buy it, or I’ll spill coffee on it the day after the warranty runs out. But oh well. It will be worth it all the same.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say about this down the line.

Network security risk management

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Network security is risk management, but remember that the purpose of the network is not to be secure. The purpose of the network is to get the work done. The job as the person configuring security architecture determines how to get the work done productively in the most secure manner possible. Network neutrality requirements are being proposed to further promote investment and innovation for the Internet, however, these requirements will likely affect the Internet’s trustworthiness too. Network General produces a number of these products, the most important is Expert Sniffer, which not only sniffs on the wire, but also runs the packet through a high-performance expert system, assisting in diagnosing problems for you.
