Macular degeneration is a disease which is commonly found in elderly people. People who are above 50 years of age are more prone to age related macular degeneration. This disease affects the eyes of the person. The macula of the retina faces thinning and some times even bleeding. Macular degeneration results in the loss of central vision.

The patients of macular degeneration complain about problem in reading and seeing the fine details. The statistics also reveal that Macular Degeneration is one of the major causes of blindness in the United States of America.
